It's not bad, the outcome very obvious, there are lovers who cannot openly admit their feelings, a big family secret, and an inheritance to worry about. This book is for people who like reading the kind of mainstream genre fiction that is set in some cottage or house on a cliff Cornwall. Memorirs I found this a very compelling read. As the story unfolded I became intrigued with the complex family and I loved the way the truth was eventually revealled.

This is a novel that raises the topic of touch moral choices, the paths we take in the heat of the moment, in the fire of the youth, and whether truth deserves a chance to be voiced, if ever. Mar 21, Leone rated it it was amazing. A wonderful story of family and hoe one woman kept a family together. The characters are written in depth and the reader gets an intimate look at the main character through letters. The setting is so well described as to imprint an image in the mind that stays there throughout to journey of the story. Mar 03, Vionna rated it liked it.

This book is very well written with a clever and complex plot intertwining past and present. All the characters were well-drawn and likeable. We see each of them from varying perspectives - primarily that of Joss, inthe present, but also that of Mutt, many years previously when she first arrived in the UK.

A heart warming family saga as can only be told by Marcia Willett From the opening paragraph I attached myself to the character's. In true Marcia style they are warm, multi-faceted and very believable. Set in Cornwall with a hidden twist, which kept you guessing right to the end. I do hate closing the book on these wonderful family sagas.
